Strawberry Jam Buns







Ingredients 

225g plain flour
110g butter
50g light brown sugar
1 egg
2-4 tbsp milk
12 tbsp strawberry jam

Method 

Place the flour into a mixing bowl. 
Then cut the butter into cubes. 
Add the butter to the flour. Using the tips of your fingers rub the flour and butter together until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs. 
Then stir in sugar using a wooden spoon.  
Add the egg and gradually add the milk. The mixture should look like dough. If the mixture is to wet add in more flour.
Place the mixture onto a floured surface. 
Knead for ten minutes. 
Roll the mixture into a large circle. Then cut out 12 circles. Get a muffin baking tray and grease the tray. Place the circles into the muffin tray. Pressing them into shape so they look like tarts. 
Spoon in the jam on top.  
Then turn the oven to 180°c and cook for 15 minutes. Wait for the jam buns to cool down before removing them from the tray.
